Welcome to Chattahoochee Hill Country |
|
The Chattahoochee Hill Country is a large area southwest of Atlanta.
It gets its name from the Chattahoochee River which runs to the northwest. Chattahoochee Hill Country is still relatively undeveloped compared to most of the Atlanta region.
The area includes southern Fulton County, and parts of southern Douglas, eastern Carroll, and northern Coweta counties.
In 200, the Georgia General Assembly allowed the southern part of Fulton to become the city of Chattahoochee Hill Country (the shorter nickname is Chatt Hills).
On June 19, 2007, residents voted 83% to 17% to incorporate the 33,000 acre city.
